Summary Profile:
New Hope Anglican Church was founded in November of 2007 as an Anglican alternative and future home for the members of Christ Church Parish, Watertown. We are a vibrant, multi-generational congregation of between 35-45 (including children) who love Jesus as Lord and Savior, have strong roots in Bible based teachings, and are poised to grow as Connecticut's newest Anglican Church.
Prior to forming New Hope Anglican Church, we, as parishioners of one of the oldest Episcopal churches in Connecticut, stood up for many years against ECUSA and the Episcopal Bishop of Connecticut over the unbiblical teachings and direction that eventually split the Episcopal Church in America. On December 31, 2007 the majority of faithful Christ Church parishioners, the vestry and its rector left ECUSA, leaving behind the property and endowment of Christ Church Parish to begin worshiping as New Hope Anglican Church.
New Hope Anglican Church is located in Watertown, Connecticut (western portion of the state) and is the only Anglican Church in a large geographical area known as the Naugatuck Valley. We estimate a population of between 250,000 to 300,000 within 30 mile radius of New Hope, many of whom are unchurched.
Over the last four months we have discovered that we are indeed a church plant and our future as a church will be rooted in evangelism, community outreach, youth ministries tied to core biblically-based teachings, and worship.
